12-year-old boy dies while rehearsing for Bhagat Singh’s hanging

Bangalore. A shocking news has come out from Chitradurga district of Karnataka. A 12-year-old boy died when he was rehearsing the execution of Bhagat Singh for a school function at his home on Saturday evening. Police said that the child was alone at home at the time of the incident, at that time his parents were not present at home. When he returned, he found the son hanging from the fan.
According to a TOI report, Sanjay Gowda’s parents Nagraj and Bhagyalakshmi run an eatery in Kelagot Badavane area of the city. Describing the incident, Badavane police station sub-inspector KR Geetamma said that the incident with the Class VII student came to light when his mother returned from the hotel around 9 pm. The door of the house was locked from inside, and they beat the door for a long time. When the door did not open from inside, their neighbors came. Neighbors looked out the window and found the boy hanging from the ceiling fan.
Immediately after this, the boy’s mother Bhagyalakshmi called her husband Nagraj, who opened the door with the master key. He took Sanjay to the hospital where he was declared brought dead. Police said that the boy made a noose with a rope and tried to hang like Bhagat Singh. He allegedly put his head in the noose and jumped off the cot and died instantly.

In the police complaint, Sanjay’s father Nagraj said that he was supposed to play the character of Bhagat Singh in a play for the school’s cultural program on Tuesday. He called the death accidental and did not hold anyone responsible for the incident.
