There was a big accident in Ratle Hydro Power Project on Saturday
4 people had died due to the landslide.
The search operation continued since last night is now over
Srinagar. A major accident took place on Saturday at Ratle Hydro Power Project in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. Due to landslide in Drabshala area where 4 people were killed. At the same time, 9 people were injured in this incident. Now out of the injured, 5 have been discharged from the hospital and the treatment of 4 is going on. According to the information received, the search operation which has been going on since last night is over now. At present no one is trapped inside the cave. The search operation was stopped once last night, but in the morning the surrounding area was also searched.
Significantly, the accident happened when a cave was being cut for this hydro power project. A JCB was engaged in this work, which came under the grip of this landslide.
The body of the JCB driver was recovered. Apart from this, five people were trapped in the cave. Those who were later rescued. All the injured were admitted to Doda Hospital.
On receiving information about the incident, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha directed the district administration to provide all necessary assistance. He had told that army, SDRF and police personnel were engaged in the rescue operation. It is known that this hydro power project is of 1000 megabytes, which was virtually inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi about 5 months ago. Since its inauguration, work is going on continuously on it.

Union Minister and MP from Udhampur Lok Sabha seat of Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Jitendra Singh also expressed grief over this accident. He said that he spoke to the District Collector of Kishtwar after receiving the news of the horrific landslide in the under-construction Ratle Power Project.
