Kolkata: On one hand, there is anger across the country regarding the case of rape and murder of a trainee doctor of RG Kar Hospital, people are protesting, on the other hand, the political temperature has also increased regarding this. While the Trinamool Congress is on the backfoot regarding this case and is defending the state police and raising questions on the CBI investigation, the Bharatiya Janata Party has now intensified verbal attacks on CM Mamata Banerjee regarding the Kolkata case and is demanding Mamata Banerjee’s resignation.
The people of Bengal will drown Mamata in the Ganga
Regarding this matter, Union Minister and West Bengal BJP State President Sukanta Majumdar launched a major attack on the way the Kolkata rape-murder case was handled. He said that the people of West Bengal are angry and you will see that people will remove Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee from power and immerse her in the river Ganga.
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, “Tomorrow is Krishna Janmashtami, we will not hold any protest… On August 28, BJP’s Mahila Morcha will lock the West Bengal Women’s Commission because they are not doing anything. On August 29, we will protest outside the DM office in all districts demanding the resignation of CM Mamata Banerjee… We will continue our protest… West Bengal Health Minister Mamata Banerjee’s phone should be checked and an inquiry should be conducted…”
Light a lamp in the evening
Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar said, “…the things said by a woman doctor who was part of the postmortem team have shaken the people of West Bengal. The way efforts were made to suppress this entire incident is shameful…” Majumdar has appealed to the people to light a lamp in their homes in memory of the deceased doctor between 6 and 7 pm on Monday evening.
