Liquor shops will remain closed in Delhi for 6 days, government announces for 2 months

If you live in the country’s capital Delhi and are fond of drinking alcohol, then this news is useful for you. Liquor shops will remain closed for 6 days during the next two months. Actually, Delhi government has announced this while releasing the time table regarding liquor shops on Friday. The government has taken this decision in view of the national festivals and religious festivals.

When will liquor shops remain closed?

Keeping in view the religious festivals and national festivals, the time table has been issued by the Excise Department of Delhi Government. In the announcement made by the Excise Department of Delhi, it has been said that liquor shops will remain closed for four days in October and two days in November. During this time, Gandhi Jayanti is on 2nd October and Vijayadashami is on 12th October. Liquor shops will be closed on the occasion of Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti on 17th October and Diwali on 31st October. Similarly, liquor shops will remain closed for two days in November. There will be closure on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti on 15th November and Guru Teg Bahadur Martyrdom Day on 24th November.

Regarding the decision to keep the liquor shops of Delhi closed for 6 days during two months, there is a clear order by the Excise Department that the liquor shops should be kept closed on the given dates. It has been clearly stated by the Excise Department that if the license of any liquor shop is canceled if it remains open during these 6 dry days, then no compensation will be given to it.

To whom will it not apply?

In the order issued by Delhi Excise Department, it is clearly stated that this order will remain in force for 6 days during two months. However, hotels with L-15 and L-15F licenses will be exempted from this closure.
