LIVE: PM Modi reached New York, will address the NRIs shortly

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New York on Sunday to attend the Indian community event in New York and address the United Nations conference. He left here after attending the summit of the heads of the Quad countries held in Wilmington hosted by US President Joe Biden. PM Modi wrote on the social media platform X, ‘Reached New York after attending events in Delaware. Looking forward to participating with the diaspora in the community event organized in the city and taking part in other programs.’

Artists from the Indian community performed Kathak dance ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Modi and US’ event. Kathak is a classical dance form that originated in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Artists from the Indian community also performed Assamese folk song ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s ‘Modi and US’ event. News agency ANI has released video footage from inside the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island. PM Modi will address the Indian diaspora shortly after the event.

The Quad summit was hosted by Joe Biden in his hometown of Wilmington in Delaware on Saturday in which Prime Minister Modi, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida participated. PM Modi is on a three-day visit to the US. He will attend an Indian community event in Long Island in New York shortly. The next day he will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ event at the United Nations General Assembly. PM Modi will also hold meetings with CEOs of leading US companies in the fields of artificial intelligence, quantum computing and semiconductors.
