Madras IIT student chooses painful death by writing ‘I am sorry, not good enough’ WhatsApp status

Chennai. The body of a 32-year-old student doing PhD from IIT Madras has been found hanging. Research scholar Sachin Kumar Jain wrote ‘I’m sorry, not good enough’ on his WhatsApp status, after which his friends panicked. When his call was not received, his friends reached his house in search of him, but by then the student had died. On the information of this matter, Velachery police reached the spot. Police said that an ambulance was called at his residence, but he was declared brought dead.

According to the information, Sachin Kumar Jain was doing PhD in IIT Madras. Sachin was a resident of West Bengal. Sachin had returned from the IIT campus on Friday. He was found dead at his home in Velachery. Sachin Kumar Jain had uploaded a status on WhatsApp before his death. He wrote the message ‘I’m sorry, not good enough’ in it. As soon as Sachin’s friends saw this message, they got suspicious. Called him, but did not receive. After this he reached his house.

Police said Jain, a resident of West Bengal, had gone to his regular classes at the mechanical engineering department of IIT Madras’s Guindy campus in the morning and returned to his rented accommodation without informing anyone. Police said when his friends came to know that he was missing after an hour, his friends tried to contact him and went to his residence where he was found hanging in the dining hall. Police said that an ambulance was called at his residence, but he was declared brought dead.
