Maharashtra: Petition regarding suspension of 16 Shiv Sena MLAs approved, Deputy Speaker may send notice tomorrow

Mumbai: Maharashtra Assembly Deputy Speaker Narhari Jirwal has accepted the petition of Shiv Sena in which the party had sought cancellation of membership of its 16 MLAs. Giving information, the sources said that the matter related to the suspension of MLAs can be heard on Monday, June 27.

On the other hand, the MLAs of the rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde faction held a meeting on Friday to consider bringing a proposal to remove the deputy speaker. The MLAs of the Eknath Shinde faction considered bringing a resolution to remove Narhari Jirawal, deputy speaker of the assembly. According to sources, action is being taken to prepare the proposal with the signatures of 46 MLAs of the rebel faction.

Earlier, CM Uddhav Thackeray lashed out at the rebel MLAs, he said that in the assembly elections, these people won on party tickets and cheated us in return. Congress and NCP are supporting us today. But our own people have stabbed us in the back. He said, “Insult me, but not the family. I am not greedy for power.”

On the other hand, rebel MLA Deepak Kesarkar of Eknath Shinde faction said in a conversation with News18 that, we are not in trouble with Uddhav Thackeray but with the NCP-Congress alliance. If Uddhav Thackeray breaks this alliance, then we will not have any complaint against him.

Deepak Kesarkar also said that BJP was our old ally and we have contact with them. Shiv Sena has deviated from the ideology of Balasaheb Thackeray. So there is a need to get out of the existing alliance.
