Manali: Waiting for 6 months now to search for missing Ashutosh on Friendship Peak, search operation closed

Manali. Ashutosh, who was hit by an avalanche on Friendship Peak in Manali in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, has not been traced. After searching for 13 days, no clue of Ashutosh has been found till now and in such a situation the search operation has been stopped. Now in summer next year, in May or June, the search operation will be started to find the youth. Please inform that Ashutosh, a young man from Shimla’s Chaupal, went missing on November 19, 2022 after being hit by an avalanche.

Due to the apprehension of bad weather, the administration has also stopped the search operation on Friday. Adventure Tour Operator Association Kullu Manali’s team, Army’s Dogra Scouts, ITBP’s team and Tiranga team participated in the search operation on Friendship Peak including Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering. But after searching for 13 days, all the teams failed.

Failure from helicopter, drone too

Apart from helicopters and drones, the help of state-of-the-art equipment was also taken to search for the youth, but nothing could be found about Ashutosh. Many teams searched the area. However, a helmet was definitely found from the spot during the search operation. Manali’s SDM Dr. Surendra Thakur told that the weather is getting worse and snowfall has started in the higher areas. In such a situation, it is risky to run a search operation. In view of the situation, the search operation has been stopped. Rescue teams have been asked to return from there. After the snow melts in summer, the search operation can be started again.

how did the accident happen

On November 17, 2022, Ashutosh, a young man from Deha’s Chaupal in Shimla, along with two of his companions had gone out to climb the Friendship Peak. After the accident on 19 November, both his companions reached back to Manali and sought help from the police. On November 20, a rescue team of Adventure Tour Operators Association headed by HHO Manali went to the spot, but could not find any trace of it. Avalanche rod was taken along with Reco Avalanche Detector, but in spite of this the clue of the young man could not be found.
