‘Michong’ will turn into a severe cyclone on this date, can wreak havoc in these areas

Due to heavy rains in many states of South India, life has become disrupted. The reason for this rain is believed to be the Michong storm which may soon take the form of a cyclone. Rescue operation in Tamil Nadu

As Cyclone Michong approached the coast, many parts of Chennai witnessed heavy rains. Along with this, it is raining in many parts of Kanchipuram also. NDRF team rescued around 15 people from Tambaram area near Peerkankaranai and Perungalathur after severe water logging following heavy rains in Tamil Nadu. Bridge number 14 between Basin Bridge and Vyasarpady has been suspended due to safety reasons in view of water flowing above the danger level in Tamil Nadu.

According to the Meteorological Department’s update, cyclonic storm Michong lay centered over the south-west of the Bay of Bengal, 150 km east-southeast of Chennai on the night of December 3. It is very likely to move north-northwestwards, intensify and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm between Nellore and Machilipatnam (Andhra Pradesh) during the morning of 5 December.
