Militants turn violent again in Manipur, 3 killed after 48 hours of peace

New Delhi. Militants disguised as security personnel called three people out of their houses on the pretext of a search operation and opened fire on them, killing them in a village in Manipur’s Imphal West district on Friday. Officials said that the incident took place in a village located on the border of Kangpoki and Imphal West districts. He said that the militants are believed to be from the Meitei community. The security forces, who were on regular patrolling of the village, reached there after hearing the sound of firing, but by then the militants fled from the area. According to officials, they had shot and killed three people before fleeing.
