Doctors of Delhi AIIMS have saved the life of a soldier who was hit by a landmine by removing three metal bolts from his body. In fact, a 49-year-old soldier had come to AIIMS recently complaining of severe pain and swelling in his hip. When the doctors examined him, they found out that three metal bolts were present in his body for ten years, due to which he was suffering from pain and swelling. Along with this, there was also a danger of pus formation.
When the doctors questioned the soldier about this, it was revealed that he was injured ten years ago due to a landmine laid in the ground. During this time, metal pieces had entered his body. After getting injured in this incident, the army doctors saved his life by performing surgery. During this time, the patient was treated and examined for about a year but there was no problem.
At the same time, AIIMS doctors say that it is shocking that a large foreign object is showing its effect on the body after ten years. After the incident, army doctors treated the badly injured soldier, at such a time it was necessary to save his life. During this time, the metal bolt present inside the body was not detected. After about ten years, a large swelling started coming near his hip. Initial investigation did not reveal anything, but when a closer investigation was done, it was found that there were three metal bolts present in his body, which must have entered the ground due to a landmine 10 years ago.
Army doctors also treated him
The doctors treating the soldier at AIIMS trauma center said that there were two bolts in the upper torso which had no effect till now, whereas the bolts near the hip were showing symptoms after ten years due to reaction in the body. They said that when any foreign element enters the body, its symptoms start appearing within a few hours to a year. However, this case was shocking, when symptoms started appearing in the patient’s body after ten years. They said that when this patient reached the army hospital, he was very injured. At that time, the doctors there did whatever was necessary to save his life.
