Mohammed Shami got injured again while recovering, ‘eclipse’ may occur after going to Australia

Team India’s pacer Mohammed Shami has been away from the field since the final of the World Cup 2023. It was expected that he would be fit for the five-match Test series to be played on the tour of Australia, but now a report has come out that Mohammed Shami has got injured again while recovering. Because of this, his playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia is in danger. He played his last international match against Australia, which was the final match of the ODI World Cup 2023. Mohammed Shami had performed strongly in that tournament.

Mohammed Shami was undergoing rehabilitation after surgery for foot and ankle injuries. He is currently in the National Cricket Academy i.e. NCA located in Bengaluru. According to the report of Times of India, now there is a knee injury and there is swelling in the knee. In such a situation, he will stay away from his comeback for the next 6 to 8 weeks. A BCCI source said about Mohammed Shami, “Shami has resumed bowling and is on his way to return to competitive cricket soon, but this knee injury has resurfaced recently. BCCI The NCA medical team is assessing the injury, but it may take a lot of time. They have been working on it for a year. They have the best workload management system. The medical team is trying its best to get him back on the field as soon as possible.”

This new injury of Mohammed Shami may hamper India’s plans for the five-Test series in Australia starting in Perth from November 22. It was expected that he would play for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy, which starts from October 11, but for now he will have to put brakes on his comeback.
