More than 104 kg of opium plants seized amid wheat crop, farm owner sent to jail – India TV Hindi

In Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, police have seized more than 104 kg of green opium plants from the wheat crop. A smuggler has also been detained. Police registered a case against the accused under NDPS Act.

Green opium plants and doda fruits were grown among the wheat.

According to the police, on the information of the informer, when the police reached the field near the house of 60-year-old Daljit Singh in Kelakheda police station of Udham Singh Nagar Gangapur district, they found that green opium plants and doda fruits were grown among the wheat plants. Police seized about 104.205 kg of opium and doda fruit and registered a case against Daljeet under NDPS Act and arrested him.

Hashish smuggler arrested

In another case, Sahaspur police station of Vikasnagar has caught a person riding a bike with hashish while checking near Dararit. 155 grams of hashish was recovered from the accused. The accused Sukhpal resident Aaduwala, Vikasnagar was immediately arrested. Now his criminal history is being investigated and further action is being taken in the case. (IANS)
