Mumbai: There was a conspiracy to blow up the school, the court sentenced the computer engineer to life imprisonment

Mumbai: A Mumbai court on Friday sentenced computer engineer Anees Ansari to life imprisonment for hatching a conspiracy to attack the children of an American school here. Additional Sessions Judge A. a. Joglekar sentenced him. Ansari was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad in October 2014 and was in jail since then.

He was convicted under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and provisions of the Information Technology Act. According to the prosecution, Ansari was working as an Associate Geographic Technician in a private company and used his office computer to create a Facebook account under a fake name and publish objectionable information.
