Sanjay Roy is said to be the main accused in the rape-murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. However, his mother has denied the allegations against him. She said that her son has been framed and many people were involved in this crime. In an interview to NDTV, she said that whoever is responsible for this should be punished. It is known that Sanjay Roy was a volunteer who often visited the government hospital. At present, he has been arrested in connection with this heinous crime. The victim’s father has also expressed suspicion that more than one person may be involved in this incident. He believes that Sanjay Roy may be being made a scapegoat as a cover-up.
According to the report, Sanjay Roy’s mother Malti Roy said that her son lives in a modest house in Bhawanipur, Kolkata. For the past few days, he was spending more time in the police barracks. She said, ‘Sanjay’s behavior has been good with me. After his father’s death, he ran the house.’ It was told that Sanjay Roy was often seen roaming around on a bike with Kolkata Police stickers. He also used to roam around wearing a KP T-shirt. Roy also used to stay in the police barracks. It has been revealed that he used to work inside the hospital. He used to take bribes from the relatives of patients in the name of reserving beds, arranging pathological tests and providing other services.
The accused’s sister said a big thing
Accused Sanjay Roy has 4 sisters. His eldest sister said, ‘My family members opposed my marriage. Due to this, I have not visited my mother and brother for the last 17 years. I really don’t know what my brother has become when he grew up. But, I believe that he would not have committed such a crime.’ She said that I also don’t know much. I am still in shock. I am not able to understand anything. But, if he has done this, then he should be punished according to the law.
Sanjay Roy sent to 14-day custody
A Kolkata court in West Bengal on Friday extended the judicial custody of Sanjoy Roy, the prime accused in the case, by 14 days. He was arrested on August 9 evening for allegedly raping and murdering a 31-year-old trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Roy was produced before the Sealdah court in central Kolkata today. Meanwhile, the CBI has started preparations to conduct polygraph tests on Roy, sacked principal of RG Kar Hospital Sandip Ghosh and five other doctors of the hospital.
