Nainital. There are many places to visit in Nainital of Uttarakhand. Along with religious, there are many tourist places here. If you are coming in search of relaxation in the midst of natural beauty of Nainital, then today we are going to tell you about one such special place. An artificial lake has been created in Kilbury, about 15 km from Nainital city. It has been named as Naina Devi Jalkund in Nainital. The water tank built by the Forest Department attracts the tourists coming here. Along with eco-tourism, preserving water is the main objective of making it.

This reservoir built on Kilbury on Bara Patthar-Vinayak motor road is about 150 meters long. Its width is about 20 meters and depth is 1.5 meters. The capacity of this reservoir is about 60 lakh liters. Due to the rains in October last month, the water tank is filled with water. Due to its construction in the forest, the wild creatures here do not have to go far and wide in search of water. Due to the increase in tourism activities in this place, the local people are also getting employment here. An eco park has also been developed around this reservoir. This water tank was opened for tourists in the month of February this year. Tourists are experiencing a different pleasure here among the forests. Along with this, the birds present in this area can also be seen.

Nidhi Arya, who came to visit Jalkund, said that she is feeling very good after coming to this place. It is a very quiet place in the middle of the forest. Here the pond and the figures made around it are attracting us. Benches have also been made in the shape of an eagle for the tourists to sit on. Overall it is a good experience. She would love to come here again.

Forest Beat Officer Govind Singh Bisht told that the main purpose of developing this pond is to conserve water. Due to this, the sources of nearby villages Jakh, Kafalta, Bargal remain recharged. Along with this, wild animals and birds living in the forest also get drinking water. This is also promoting eco-tourism, due to which the local people are also getting employment opportunities.
