The Supreme Court Collegium has also taken major decisions on other High Court judges.
New Delhi: Chief Justice D.Y. The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chandrachud on Tuesday recommended the names of six lawyers to the Center for appointment as judges of the Kerala High Court. The collegium has also recommended that judicial officer Mohammad Yousuf Wani be appointed as additional judge of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Let us tell you that in the collegium of the Supreme Court, Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice B. R. Gawai is also included.
Recommendation to make these 6 lawyers judges
A resolution of the collegium uploaded on the Supreme Court website said, ‘The Collegium decides to recommend that lawyers Abdul Hakeem Mullapalli Abdul Aziz, Shyam Kumar Vadakke Mudavakkat, Harishankar Vijayan Menon, Manu Sreedharan Nair, Easwaran Subramani and Manoj Pulambi Madhavan Should be appointed as judge of Kerala High Court. The collegium recommended appointment of five additional judges of the Allahabad High Court – Justice Saurabh Srivastava, Justice Om Prakash Shukla, Justice Mohammad Azhar Hussain Idrisi, Justice Jyotsna Sharma and Justice Surendra Singh-I as permanent judges of the same High Court.
Promotion of 11 judges of Bombay High Court
The Collegium also recommended the appointment of 11 additional judges of the Bombay High Court as permanent judges of the same High Court. These 11 judges are – Justice Urmila Sachin Joshi-Phalke, Justice Bharat Pandurang Deshpande, Justice Kishore Chandrakant Sant, Justice Valmiki SA, Justice Kamal Rashmi Khata, Justice Sharmila Uttamrao Deshmukh, Justice Arun Ramnath Pednekar, Justice Sandeep Vishnupant Marne, Justice Gauri Vinod. Godse, Justice Rajesh Shantaram Patil and Justice Arif Saleh Dr. Let us tell you that the collegium of the Supreme Court consists of 5 senior most judges including the Chief Justice of India.
