Nandu Paswan is the main accused of burning the houses of Mahadalits in Nawada, he has worked in Bihar Police

In the case of setting the houses of Mahadalits on fire in Bihar’s Nawada district, the police have arrested 15 people including the main accused Nandu Paswan. Nandu is a retired jawan of Bihar Police. The police is interrogating him. Nandu’s son is also in police custody. On Wednesday night, around 100-150 people fired and attacked the Krishna Nagar Tola in Dedaura village of Bhadokhar Panchayat in Mufassil police station area. The accused set the houses of the Mahadalit family on fire. At that time, they were sitting outside their houses and eating food.

The attackers started setting their houses on fire one by one. Seeing the horror of the incident, the women and men started leaving their houses along with their children. The goats and chickens tied inside the houses were burnt to death. Apart from setting fire, the attackers also vandalised some houses. The police have registered an FIR against 28 people.

Son of main accused Nandu Paswan is ward member

The mastermind of this scandal is said to be 70-year-old Nandu Paswan. He was a constable in Bihar Police and retired in 2014. His son Nageshwar Paswan is the ward member of Bhadokhar Ward No. 16 (Krishna Nagar). Nandu’s daughter-in-law Sarita Bharti works as an Anganwadi worker.

According to the information, the goons carried out this incident due to land dispute. The land where the arson was committed is under a court case. According to the release of DM and SP, Vyas Muni, son of Sanjay Majhi of Krishna Nagar, told on the spot that currently title suit number 22/1995 is going on in Nawada court on the said land.
