If stainless steel had been used for the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji, it would never have fallen. When I was constructing 55 flyovers in Mumbai (as a minister of Maharashtra), a person fooled me. He applied powder coating on iron rods and said that these are rust-proof. But they rusted. I think stainless steel should be used only within 30 kilometers from the sea.”

During this, Nitin Gadkari said that we have to become a 5 trillion dollar economy. We are at the fifth place in the world and want to reach the third place. We are the fastest growing economy in the world. If we have to develop infrastructure and achieve this goal, then we need water, electricity, transport and communication. If these four things are not there, then neither agriculture nor industry will be able to develop. He said that if we have to increase exports, then logistical support will have to be reduced.

He said that in our country, logistics support goes up to around 14 percent. Whereas in China it is 8-9 percent. It is very important to build good roads, tunnels, bridges so that logistics support can be promoted. Nitin Gadkari said that I was born in Maharashtra. I had the good fortune of building 6 tunnels after the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. He said why don’t we build some more tunnels so that we get a permanent solution. We need a positive approach.
