Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on Wednesday told how people should be treated who spit on the road after eating pan masala. Nitin Gadkari has said that photographs of people spitting on the road should be taken and published in newspapers so that people can see them. Addressing the ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’ program organized by the Nagpur civic body, Nitin Gadkari said that people show good behavior in other countries but in their own country they easily throw garbage on the roads. On this occasion, he stressed on maintaining cleanliness to protect the environment and also talked about staying away from single use plastic.
Speaking at the event organized on the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said, “People are very smart. After eating chocolate, they immediately throw away the wrapper. However, when they go abroad, they throw away the cover after eating chocolate.” They keep it in their pockets and behave well abroad.” He said that earlier I had a habit of throwing chocolate wrappers outside the car. Today when I eat chocolate, I take its wrapper home and throw it in the dustbin.”
Raising the issue of cleanliness in public places, Nitin Gadkari said that pictures of those who eat pan masala and spit on the road should be made public so that people can see. He further said, “Mahatma Gandhiji had also conducted such experiments.” Nagpur MP Nitin Gadkari also advocated converting waste into useful items.
