Not only Israel, now Indian army will also be a player in hybrid warfare, what did CDS Anil Chauhan say

The world’s biggest conflicts have been fought on battlefields, but now they don’t need a battlefield. The reason for this is that the nature of war has changed. This week we saw how Israel caused explosions in enemy Hezbollah’s pagers and walkie-talkies. This killed about 34 people, while 3000 people were injured. This is being considered an example of future wars. Apart from this, drone warfare, cyber warfare etc. are also a matter of concern. Experts call the combined form of all these as hybrid warfare. Meanwhile, the Indian Army has also become active regarding hybrid warfare.

There is also emphasis on training the soldiers for this. Under this, a course is being started. This information has been given by Chief of Defense Staff Anil Chauhan. He said that the first course based on future warfare will start from September 23, in which officers of various ranks will participate. He also talked about the broad outline of the joint theater command envisaged by the government in a dialogue session at the Bharat Shakti Defense Conference here on Thursday. He was asked about the conclusions of the recent conference of the commanders of the three wings of the army.

General Chauhan said, ‘We also discussed how warfare is evolving and what we need to do about it, and I think this is important. In this we discussed something like the future warfare course, which is going to start four days later, on 23 (September). This is the first course that we are preparing. ‘ He said that this is slightly different from the regular course, where officers of the same rank attend the course.

The CDS said, “There is no question of rank in this and you will see officers from the rank of Major to Major General participating in this special course. So it is breaking barriers. This is something new that we are trying to do.” He said that a Major General can possibly learn something from a Major and a Major can learn about strategy and operations from a Major General. The CDS said that this is an initial course and it will probably “mature in the future”. General Chauhan said, “…we are going to tell how we will fight in the future and how we will prepare a roadmap. In this way it is a different concept.”
