Now doctors will run OPD outside the Health Ministry, announced to continue the strike

The anger of the medical community continues over the brutality with a female doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. It is reported that resident doctors have now prepared to open a unique ‘OPD’ outside the Health Ministry. Meanwhile, the strike called by the Indian Medical Association or IMA has ended at 6 pm on Sunday. However, the doctors’ protest continues.

Doctors of AIIMS and many hospitals of Delhi have announced to start a protest by providing OPD services outside Nirman Bhawan from August 19. The special thing is that the Health Ministry’s office is located here. In a press release issued by the Resident Doctors Association (RDA), it has been said that they will start providing OPD services on the road outside Nirman Bhawan in Delhi.

It said, ‘After discussions with the Action Committee for Central Protection Act and the general body of RDA AIIMS, it has been unanimously decided that the strike will continue as our demands have not been met yet. Elective OPD, ward and OT services, ICU, emergency procedures and emergency OT will continue.’ The release also said that resident doctors will be present outside the Nirman Bhawan for OPD services for patients. Also, emergency services will continue in hospitals.

The doctors pointed to the lack of security of health workers. The release said, ‘We will continue to provide health services to the patients in the interest of the nation and for our oath. We want to highlight the issue of lack of security of health workers across the country.’ They have appealed to the government for an immediate central ordinance for security.
