Now former cricketer Ambati Rayudu will hit sixes in politics, joins YSR Congress

After showing his strength on the cricket field, Ambati Rayudu is now going to try his hand in politics. Former Indian team cricketer Rayudu on Thursday joined Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party YSR Congress. Rayudu joined the party in the presence of Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy CM Narayana Swamy and MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy. After this step, the news of Rayudu contesting elections has also increased.

Retired from IPL this year also

Ambati Rayudu played his last match for Chennai Super Kings in IPL on 29 May this year. However, Rayudu, who bats in the middle order, came into the limelight during the 2019 Cricket World Cup. Rayudu did not get a place in the 15-member team for this year’s ODI World Cup. After this, there were speculations that Rayudu was angry. After this Rayudu announced his retirement from international cricket. He had written a letter to BCCI announcing his retirement from all formats of cricket.

Will Rayudu contest elections?

Former Indian team cricketer Ambati Rayudu had already hinted at entering politics. If reports are to be believed, before joining YSR Congress, Rayudu has toured his local district Guntur completely and met people. However, till now no statement has come out from the party regarding whether Rayudu will contest in the Lok Sabha or Assembly elections or not.

Assembly and Lok Sabha elections will be held in 2024

In Andhra Pradesh, both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections can be held simultaneously in 2024. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party had won overwhelmingly in both the elections held in the year 2019. YSR Congress had won 151 out of 175 assembly seats in the state. At the same time, out of 25 seats in the Lok Sabha, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s party had captured 22 seats.
