Management upset due to increasing crowd in Delhi AIIMS
Hospitals meeting convened to reduce pressure
Serious discussion will be held on the circumstances of referring the patient

New Delhi. The pressure of patients is increasing continuously in the country’s largest hospital AIIMS. After the arrival of the new director, many efforts are being made to reduce this pressure. In this direction, an important meeting is going to be held in AIIMS on Saturday. An appeal has been made to the Medical Superintendent of Delhi’s government hospitals to attend this meeting. In this meeting, it will be considered to make a mechanism to refer patients. If there is coordination with everyone, then in the coming days patients will not be able to be easily referred to AIIMS. When the patient is fit on that mechanism only then he will be referred to AIIMS.

The new director of AIIMS, M. Srinivas has written a letter to the medical superintendent of all the hospitals in Delhi. It has been said that at present 600 patients are seen every day in the emergency of AIIMS. There are both serious and very serious patients in this. Apart from this, AIIMS also looks after the patients referred from the government hospitals of Delhi. They are referred either due to paucity of beds or due to paucity of resources.

big hospitals will be involved
The new director has also written in his letter that at present there is no standard for referring the patient. To make this standard, this meeting is being called on Saturday. In this meeting, all the major hospitals of Delhi, GB Pant, LNJP, Safdarjung, Charak Palika, Acharya Shree Bhikshu, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Madan Mohan Malviya, Sucheta Kriplani, RML, DDU and Medical Superintendent of ILBS have been called.

Why is the crowd increasing in AIIMS
It is usually seen that if the patient is not able to get treatment in Delhi or a far-flung hospital, then he gets himself referred directly to AIIMS. Generally, doctors also refer to any hospital or AIIMS without any hesitation. This leads to overcrowding of patients in AIIMS. Handling this crowd is a big challenge for the AIIMS administration.
