The country’s first Vande Metro train will run between Bhuj and Ahmedabad in Gujarat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag it off on 16 September. After this, there is a plan to run Vande Metro trains on a large scale in other states of the country. There is a plan to run Vande Bharat Metro in place of 3 thousand Vande passenger trains.
Due to its features, this train will make the journey of daily commuters, students, businessmen, working people of local-passenger trains fast and comfortable. A top official of the Railway Board said that the maximum speed of Vande Metro train is 130 kilometers per hour. However, it will be run at a speed of 75 to 90 kilometers per hour.
Due to self-propelled technology, Vande Metro will be able to pick up at high speed and stop quickly. Due to this, the average speed of Vande Metro will be higher than passenger and local trains. The official said that the fare of Vande Metro has not been decided yet, but it will be higher than the sleeper class of Mail-Express. That is, the fare per passenger between Bhuj-Ahmedabad can be Rs 300-400.
Preparations to remove 3 thousand passenger trains
Railways is going to replace the existing 3000 passenger trains with Vande Metro trains. These trains running as intercity trains will be equipped with modern facilities and security. They will be run between major cities within 200-350 km. The doors of Vande Metro will open and close automatically from the side. There will be a talk back facility in case of emergency through which passengers will be able to talk to the train driver. Each coach will have 14 sensors for fire prevention. Each coach will have wheelchairs for the disabled.
