The Israeli army, which had started the war against Hezbollah, terrorized Lebanon’s capital Beirut for the first time on Monday morning. Here the Israeli army blew up the city building. At least four people are reported killed in this attack. Palestinian militant group PFLP says three of its leaders were killed in the attack. This is the first time in the increasing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah that Israel has attacked a residential area of Beirut.
This aerial attack by the Israeli army took place on the upper floor of an apartment in the Kola district of Beirut. According to news agency Reuters, the Palestinian militant group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) said that three of its leaders were killed in an Israeli attack in the Kola district.
Earlier, there were also reports which claimed that the leadership of another terrorist organization Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya (Islamic Group) was targeted in this attack, although the organization has denied this.
Air strikes on Beirut since Sunday night
According to the report, the Israeli army has been carrying out drone attacks in the residential areas of Beirut since Sunday night. Israeli newspaper Hayom quoted the Israeli army as saying it was carrying out attacks in the Bekaa area in Beirut. The IDF says its warplanes have struck dozens of Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa Valley region in the past two hours. The army also said that the sites struck included rocket launchers and buildings where Hezbollah stored weapons.
