Dehradun: NSA Ajit Doval and lyricist Prasoon Joshi are among five eminent people from Uttarakhand who will be honored with this year’s Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman.
Apart from Doval, former Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, late poet and writer Girish Chandra Tiwari and late journalist Viren Dangwal will be given the award posthumously, a government order said.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of all the people of the state towards these great sons of Devbhoomi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appreciated all the people who received the award.
He tweeted in Hindi, “On behalf of all the people of the state, I express my gratitude to these great sons of ‘Dev Bhoomi’, who have brought the flag of fame to Uttarakhand all over the world through their inspirational works in various fields of social life. I hoisted.” ,

He will be presented this award on the state foundation day on November 9.

Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman is one of the two highest civilian awards of the state along with the Uttarakhand Ratna.
It is given to a person for his exceptional contribution in any field of human endeavour.
The award was instituted by the Uttarakhand government in the year 2021.
Former Chief Minister ND Tiwari, environmentalist Anil Prakash Joshi, writer Ruskin Bond, mountaineer Bachendri Pal and folk singer Narendra Singh Negi were the winners of the first edition of the award.
