South Korean tech company Samsung is making one innovation after another and now the company has come up with the latest wearable named Samsung Galaxy Ring. This compact device can be worn on the finger like a ring and it will monitor health data to take care of health. A new report claims that if this premium wearable gets damaged or its battery gets damaged, then it cannot be repaired.
iFixit has stated in its report that the Galaxy Smart Ring cannot be repaired. A major reason for this is the lithium-ion battery present in the ring. The production states that the battery found in this ring is designed for 400 use cycles. However, once the battery dies, it cannot be replaced without completely damaging the device. It is clear that the battery in the ring cannot be replaced.

CT scan of the new device revealed
The publication has also shared a computer tomography (CT) scan of the new wearable in its report, which has revealed another major problem. The smart ring has an epoxy resin coating on the inside, followed by a lithium-ion battery and the rest of the circuitry. The problem is that the circuit board is connected to the battery with the help of a press connector.
Press connectors are a solder-free solution for connecting printed circuit boards (PCBs) to batteries and inductive coils. They are used when many components need to be connected in a very small space. The problem with these is that the battery and circuit board are joined together in such a way that they cannot be separated.

Think twice before buying such devices
If you are going to buy a premium device like Samsung Galaxy Ring, then you should think twice after the new report. A device that you are going to wear on your finger for the whole day is very vulnerable to damage. In such a situation, if the device gets damaged, it may have to be thrown away.
