Araria. In Bihar’s Araria, the team of City Police Station and District Intelligence Unit, while taking joint action, recovered 1589 kg of Ganja on secret information. This ganja was being smuggled in a Nagaland number vehicle. The police arrested the father-son driver. It is being told that the recovered ganja is worth about Rs 3 crore in the market.
According to the information, this huge consignment of smuggling was entering Bihar from Guwahati via West Bengal. The city police station and the DIU team have taken this action at a dhaba near Jahangir Basti on the Araria-Purnia Marg National Highway. City police station has recovered 285 packets of ganja filled in the vehicle. The accused had parked the truck near a dhaba next to the petrol pump. It has been seized by the team of Nagar police station and DIU. The police have arrested the father-son driver.

City Police Station President Shivsharan Sah told that both the accused father and son are residents of Baniapur in Chhapra and they have been identified as Mohammad Abbas and Tohid. The criminal history of both the accused is also being probed. Inquiries are being made as to where the cannabis was being brought in large quantities and where it was to be consumed. The team of the District Intelligence Unit and the city police station were involved in the campaign.
