Amritsar: India TV Chairman and Editor in Chief Rajat Sharma reached the Golden Temple in Amritsar on the occasion of his birthday. During this, he bowed his head in the court of Harmandir Sahib. On this occasion, Rajat Sharma’s wife and India TV MD Ritu Dhawan was also present with him.
Rajat Sharma also posted a photo with wife Ritu Dhawan on social media platform X and wrote, “Feeling blessed to be at the Golden Temple on my birthday. Praying for peace and good health for all.”

Rajat Sharma himself was surprised to see the congratulatory message floating in New York’s Times Square. He tweeted, “This is a surprise.”

Rajat Sharma was born in the year 1957 in Sabzi Mandi area of Delhi. Rajat Sharma saw a lot of struggles in his life since childhood. He has six brothers and one sister. Recalling his days of struggle, Rajat Sharma had said, ‘All nine of us, including our parents, lived in a 100 square feet room, which we called home. Every day was a struggle for us. We did not even have common facilities like water or electricity.
Education is the only way out of poverty – Rajat Sharma
Rajat Sharma described education as the way out of poverty. He told that his early education was from Sanatan Dharma Middle School. At night he used to study under the lamp post at Sabzi Mandi railway station. He told that he knew that the only way to fight his poverty was to study hard and make his life worth living.
