Order to arrest AAP MP Sanjay Singh, UP court’s decision – Hindustan News Hub

MP Sanjay Singh may be arrested again.

Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh seems to be in trouble once again. In a case that is more than two decades old, a Sultanpur court has ordered the arrest of Sanjay Singh and several others, including SP leader Anup Sanda. Sanjay Singh and other accused did not appear for the hearing, to which the court strongly objected and ordered the local police to arrest them. Let us know about this whole case.

Arrest him and present him on August 28- Court

Actually, a non-bailable warrant was issued against AAP MP Sanjay Singh and several other accused in a 23-year-old case. The hearing on the case was to be held on Tuesday. However, when the accused did not appear in the court, the court on Tuesday directed the local police to arrest MP Sanjay Singh, SP leader Anoop Sanda and four others and present them in the court by August 28.

Petition filed in High Court

MP Sanjay Singh’s lawyer Madan Singh has said that a non-bailable warrant was issued against Sanjay Singh, Anoop Sanda and four other accused on August 13. The hearing on it was held on Tuesday. The lawyer said that the bail petition of Sanjay Singh and Sanda has been filed in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, which will be heard on August 22.

What is the whole matter?

Actually, this whole matter is of 19 June 2001. A demonstration was held under the leadership of former SP MLA Anoop Sanda against poor power supply. Former councilors Kamal Srivastava, Vijay Kumar, Santosh and Subhash Chaudhary also participated in it along with Sanjay Singh, after which a case was registered against all of them. Special Judge Yogesh Yadav on January 11, 2023 convicted all six accused including Sanjay Singh and sentenced them to three months’ imprisonment each. On August 9, the MP/MLA court had ordered six people to appear in court. For not doing so, a non-bailable warrant was issued against all of them.
