Indore: After the death of a 34-year-old vegetable trader from Madhya Pradesh, the heart obtained from his organ was sent from Indore to Pune in a special army aircraft on Monday. This organ will be transplanted into the body of a soldier suffering from severe heart disease. Officials of ‘Indore Society for Organ Donation’ gave this information. Officials said that Pradeep Aswani (34), who runs a vegetable business in Ujjain, was injured in a road accident on the night of January 20. Due to a serious head injury, he was admitted to a private hospital in Indore. He told that despite treatment Aswani’s condition did not improve and the doctors declared him brain dead.

Despite grief, Aswani’s relatives agreed to donate his organs posthumously and after that surgeons removed his heart, liver, both kidneys and eyes from the 34-year-old businessman’s body, officials said. Aswani’s elder sister Neelam Khushlani said, ‘It is a matter of great pride for our family that my late brother’s heart is going to be implanted in a soldier’s body. I have a feeling that (after heart transplant) my brother will serve the country by staying alive as a soldier. Sandipan Arya, a volunteer of the social organization ‘Muskan Group’ associated with ‘Indore Society for Organ Donation’, told that two kidneys, liver and eyes received from Aswani’s posthumous organ donation will be transplanted to needy patients in local hospitals.

5 people will get new life
Eyewitnesses told that after his death, the body of Aswani, who gave new life to five people from organ donation, was sent for the last journey with full respect from the special Jupiter Hospital of the city. According to eyewitnesses, Madhya Pradesh Armed Police personnel saluted the late Aswani by playing the bugle. During this, local Lok Sabha MP Shankar Lalwani and doctors and other personnel of the hospital were also present.
