The case of rape and murder of a female trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College is hot. Protests are taking place not only in Bengal but all over the country. Meanwhile, the mother of the female trainee doctor spoke to ANI. She told that she got a call from the hospital that her daughter’s health is bad, then they said that she has committed suicide, when I reached the hospital, first I was not allowed to see the dead body and then when I was allowed to see it, her pants were open, there was only one piece of cloth on her body. Her hand was broken and blood was coming out of her mouth and eyes. She also expressed dissatisfaction over the work of Kolkata Police and said that it seems that CM Mamata Banerjee is trying to stop the protest.
The mother of the female trainee doctor says that the attitude of the hospital administration regarding her daughter’s death was not good at all. She said that when we spoke to the hospital administration in a half-hearted manner, they just said that your daughter is unwell and disconnected the call. When we called again, the other person introduced himself as an assistant and said that your daughter was on duty on Thursday and she has committed suicide. When we reached the hospital around 10.53 pm on Friday night, we were not allowed to see the dead body at first.
He further said that “When we got permission to see our daughter at 3 am, we were shocked to see the scene inside. Her pants were open, she was wearing only one piece of cloth. Her hand was broken and blood was oozing out of her mouth and eyes. Looking at her, it seemed as if someone had killed our daughter. I told them that this is not suicide, we had worked very hard to make our daughter a doctor and she was murdered.”
Police did not do the right thing, questions on Mamata too
He said, “CM Mamata Banerjee had said that the culprit will be arrested as soon as possible, but nothing has happened yet. One person has been arrested. I am sure many more people are involved in this incident. I think the entire department is responsible for the incident. The police did not do a good job at all. I think the Chief Minister is trying to stop the protest, she imposed Section 144 here today so that people cannot protest.”
On Kolkata Police, he said, “They did not cooperate with us at all, they only tried to hush up the case as quickly as possible. Their attempt was to get the postmortem done as soon as possible and remove the body.”
