Patna: Armed robbers rob the passengers of Delhi-Kolkata Duronto Express, search begins

Patna. Railway authorities have started a search operation to nab the armed robbers who robbed passengers on a Delhi-Kolkata Duronto Express train near Patna on Sunday. A senior Railway Police Force official said on Monday that the incident took place near Patna at around 3 am on Sunday. He told that about seven-eight criminals entered the train and they robbed some passengers of their valuables by showing them the fear of weapons.

The affected passengers lodged a complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP) there when the train reached Howrah, the official said. Another complaint was also lodged at Jasidih railway station. Virendra Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer of East Central Railway said that railway authorities have formed several teams to nab the accused. Railway authorities have registered an FIR and CCTV footage is being scrutinised. Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manavjit Singh Dhillon said that Bihar Police is providing all possible help to the railway authorities in the investigation.
