People gathered for the last glimpse of Ratan Tata
Mumbai: People gathered at the NCPA Lawn at Nariman Point in Mumbai to pay their last respects to Ratan Tata, the country’s famous industrialist and honorary chairman of Tata Group. Famous political personalities of the country, people associated with the industry, film personalities, people associated with sports as well as people from different sectors of the society gathered to pay their last respects. Ratan Tata’s last rites will be performed today at the cremation ground in Worli.
Funeral with state honors
Ratan Tata’s last rites will be performed with full state honours. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the funeral on behalf of the Government of India. Expressing grief over the demise of Ratan Tata, Amit Shah said in his condolence that he was deeply saddened by the demise of the great industrialist and true nationalist Ratan Tata. He selflessly dedicated his life for the development of our nation.
Amit Shah further wrote on his X handle, ‘Whenever I met him, his enthusiasm and commitment for the betterment of India and its people amazed me. His commitment to the welfare of our country and its people gave birth to millions of dreams. Time cannot take away Ratan Tata ji from his beloved country. He will always live in our hearts. My condolences to the Tata Group and their countless fans. Om Shanti Shanti Shanti.’
