Delhi Air Pollution: Due to heavy rains in Delhi, people in Delhi-NCR have got relief from air pollution and smog. The air quality in Delhi was in the severe category till midnight. During this period, AQI was recorded at 462 in Anand Vihar, 461 in RK Puram, 460 in Punjabi Bagh and 464 in ITO. Due to the rains in Delhi-NCR, air pollution has reduced significantly. AQI has dropped to less than 100 at many places. Anand Vihar recorded 162, New Delhi 85, Rohini 87, Punjabi Bagh 91 and Shahdara AQI 97, which indicates poor category.
Air quality reached ‘severe’ to ‘very poor’ category
According to the Central Pollution Control Board, air quality remained in the severe category on Thursday. On Thursday, 459 in Dwarka Sector 8, 453 in RK Puram, 452 in New Motibagh, 452 in Nehru Nagar, 449 in Najafgarh, 446 in IGI Airport, 445 in Punjabi Bagh, 441 in ITO, 439 in Wazirpur, 438 in Shadipur, Bawana. 437 in Delhi, 434 in Patparganj, 433 in Okhla, 433 in Jahangirpuri, 432 in Anand Vihar, 428 in Mundka, 423 in Sonia Vihar, 422 in Sirifort Delhi and AQI 402 in DTU was recorded which indicates severe category.
High amount of PM 2.5
According to SAFAR India, the amount of PM 2.5 in Delhi was recorded at 247 on November 8. Which indicates a bad category. Whereas the quantity of PM 10 was recorded at 426 which is twice the average. Let us tell you that on Thursday, the minimum temperature of Delhi was recorded at 16 degrees and the maximum temperature was 30 degrees Celsius. According to the information, the pollution level increased due to change in wind direction since Wednesday afternoon and evening.
