PFI Ban: Those big names, who were the face of PFI across the country, know everything about them

PFI Terror Connection: The Center on Tuesday night issued a gazette notification banning the ‘Popular Front of India’ (PFI) for five years under stringent provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. . Along with that, eight other organizations have also been cracked down. All these organizations were involved in terrorist activities. After imposing the ban, the first reaction of PFI has come to the fore. He said that everyone is informed that the Popular Front of India has been dissolved. The organization accepts this decision, the Indian government has banned PFI for 5 years.

PFI is accused of being involved in anti-national activities. Now it is also being claimed that is SIMI the only PFI? The reason for this apprehension is that in the raids going on for a few days, many PFI leaders and office bearers have been arrested from many states of the country. Their terror connection has come to the fore.

O. M.A. Salam, PFI President

Salam, an employee of the Kerala State Electricity Board, has been “suspended”. There is a departmental inquiry going on against Salam due to his links with the PFI. Salaam also has links with the ‘Rehab India Foundation’ (RIF).

Anees Ahmed National General Secretary

Ahmed studied in Bangalore. He has been instrumental in increasing the cyber activities and presence of PFI. He was working for a global telecommunications company, which had recently suspended him. Various investigative agencies found him “very active” in commenting/reacting on current issues on social media, news channels. He was seen vociferously criticizing the policies and governance of the central government.

P. Koya, National Executive Council Member
Koya, an “active member” of the banned organization ‘Student Islamic Movement of India’ (SIMI), worked as a lecturer at the Kozhikode University in Kerala. Prior to that, Koya worked for three years in a private company in Qatar from 1986. Various probe agencies say Koya acted as the director of the ‘Islamic Youth Centre’ (IYC), Kozhikode, which “actually propagates an ideology that promotes Islamic fundamentalism and Muslim extremism”.

E. M. Abdur Rahiman, National Vice President

Rahiman is a retired librarian from the Cochin University of Science and Technology located in the Ernakulam district of Kerala. He has been the president of SIMI. Various federal agencies say he is a “very influential leader of the PFI and a key decision-maker”.

Afsar Pasha, National Secretary

Pasha is a businessman and has been an “active member” of the PFI since its formation in 2006.

Abdul Wahit Sait, Member of the National Executive Council

Sait Shivajinagar belongs to the Kutchi Memon community living in Shivajinagar, Bangalore. He is a “founding member” of the Radical Islamic Organization (PFI) and runs a software venture.

Mohd Shakib alias Shakif, National Secretary

Shakib is a founding member of PFI. He owns a real estate business.

Minarul Sheikh, PFI West Bengal President

Sheikh holds a PhD degree from Aligarh Muslim University. He conducts coaching classes and does research work.

Mohammad Asif, PFI Rajasthan President

Asif joined the ‘Campus Front of India’ (CFI) during his graduation and became its national general secretary. He was appointed as the vice-president of the state unit of PFI in 2013-14. Various investigative agencies say that Asif tried to spread the organization across the state.
