PFI’s Twitter account banned, Twitter India took action on the complaint of the government

PFI Twitter Account Withheld: The official Twitter handle of Islamic organization Popular Front of India (PFI) has been banned. Twitter has taken this action after the Indian government banned the organization. Twitter has written that in response to the legal demand, the account of the PFI official in India has been suspended.

The Government of India had issued an order banning PFI late on Tuesday (27 September). The Union Home Ministry has banned PFI in the country under the Unlawful Activities Act. The government had asked states across the country to take steps against PFI. The Kerala government has released the list of banned PFI and its affiliated organizations.

The organizations named by the Kerala government in the list are PFI and its affiliates and affiliated fronts- Rehab India Foundation, Campus Front of India, All India Imams Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization, National Women’s Front, Junior Front and Empower. India Foundation and Rehab Foundation.
