Report: Himanshu Joshi

Pithoragarh: Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been closed for the last three years and this time also there is no hope of its commencement. Due to this, Shiva devotees are disappointed, but they do not need to be disappointed. Devotees of Shiva can easily visit Adi Kailash, which is considered as India’s Kailash. Adi Kailash is close to China border in Pithoragarh, the importance of whose visit is also considered equal to Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) has started preparations for the proposed Adi Kailash Yatra from the first week of May.

Adi Kailash Yatra is being conducted for the dejected Shiva devotees due to non-availability of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The shape and importance of this mountain is similar to that of Kailash Mansarovar. Due to the construction of the road till the China-Tibet border, devotees can now visit Adi Kailash easily. Adi Kailash falls on the way to Kailash Mansarovar near China border, where there is Parvati Kund on the lines of Mansarovar lake, which is considered a very sacred place. Till now more than 4000 people have visited Adi Kailash run by KMVN.

There will be darshan of many religious places in the journey

This time Adi Kailash Yatra has been proposed from first week of May to first week of November. The journey starts from Kathgodam, Kainchi Dham, Jageshwar Dham, Pithoragarh, Dharchula, Bundi, Gunji, Nabhidhang, Om Parvat Darshan, Kalapani, Vyas Gufa Darshan, Nabi village via Kuti, Jyoli Kong, Parvati Sarovar Darshan, Gaurikund Darshan etc. to Kailash it occurs.
