‘PM Modi and CM Dhami should be thanked’, Mufti Shamoon Qasmi said on UCC – India TV Hindi

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday introduced the much-awaited Uniform Civil Code or UCC bill in the state assembly. This bill has a provision to make practices like polygamy and ‘Halala’ a criminal offense and to give inheritance to the children of ‘live-in’ couples like biological children. After the introduction of this bill, while many Maulanas are calling it ‘wrong’ and talking about going to court, on the other hand Mufti Shamoon Qasmi has strongly supported it.

‘History is being created in Uttarakhand’

Let us tell you that Uttarakhand Madrasa Board Chairman Mufti Shamoon Qasmi has given a statement in favor of Uniform Civil Code. He has said that Muslims should be thankful that the country has got leadership like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand like Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Mufti Qasmi said, ‘History is being created in Uttarakhand today. By bringing UCC, Uttarakhand government has given equal rights to women. In true sense, BJP is providing Muslim women their basic rights according to Islam.

What is in UCC bill of Uttarakhand?

Mufti Qasmi further said, ‘Muslims should thank PM Modi and CM Dhami that the country and the state are getting leadership like theirs today.’ Let us tell you that the ‘Uniform Civil Code, Uttarakhand-2024’ bill, presented on the second day of the special session of the Assembly called to pass the UCC Bill, provides for all citizens irrespective of religion and community on issues like marriage, divorce, inheritance, property. A similar law is proposed. However, the Scheduled Tribes living in the state have been kept out of its scope. BJP had promised the people of Uttarakhand to bring UCC before the 2022 elections.
