PM Modi called the medal winners of Paris Paralympics, know what he said about the coach – Hindustan News Hub

PM Narendra Modi spoke to the players who won medals in Paris Paralympics over the phone and praised their excellent performance. The Prime Minister spoke to Paralympic Games medal winners Harvinder Singh, Kapil Parmar, Pranav Surma, Sachin Sarjerao Khiladi and Dharambir over the phone. He congratulated them on their victory. The Prime Minister said that the players winning medals is the biggest gift for the country. He also praised the efforts of the coaches behind the excellent performance of the players.

Indian players have performed historically in the 2024 Paralympics held in Paris. India has won 26 medals in a Paralympics for the first time. India has six gold, nine bronze and 11 silver medals. India is ranked 14th in the medal table. China has won a total of 171 medals with 75 gold and is at the top of the points table.

India has won 57 medals in Paralympics

India has won a total of 57 medals at the Paralympic Games. These include 15 gold, 21 silver and 21 bronze medals. Since the inception of the Paralympic Games in 1960, India has participated in 12 editions so far and Paris 2024 has been India’s most successful Paralympic Games so far. Earlier in 2020, India won 19 medals at the Paralympics.

PM Modi changed the picture

Between 1972 and 2016, Indian players were able to win only 12 medals in the Paralympics, but after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister, the picture of the country has changed. Through schemes like Khelo India Games and TOPS, hidden talents are coming to the fore in every corner of the country. Apart from this, the PM himself talks to the players before and after big events. This gives them new courage. Its effect is being seen from Asian Games to Commonwealth Games and now Paralympics.
