New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi on Monday.
The event will bring together over 13,500 farmers and around 1,500 agriculture startups from across the country, an official statement said. At least 1 crore farmers from various institutions are expected to participate in the program virtually.

Researchers, decision makers and other stakeholders will participate in the conference. The Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers will inaugurate 600 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samridhi Kendras (PMKSKs). As per the announcement, the country’s fertilizer retail stores will be gradually converted into PMKSKs under the programme.

It said that PMKSK would meet the needs of farmers and provide agricultural inputs (fertilizers, seeds, equipment); Testing facilities for soil, seed, fertilizer; Creating awareness among farmers; To provide information about various government schemes and ensure regular capacity building of retailers at block/district level outlets. There are plans to convert over 3.3 lakh retail fertilizer shops into PMKSKs.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will launch the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Fertilizer Project – One Nation One Fertilizer. Under this scheme, Prime Minister will launch Bharat Urea Bags, which will help companies to market fertilizers under a single brand name ‘Bharat’.
Demonstrating the Prime Minister’s continued commitment towards the welfare of farmers, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) will release the 12th installment amount of Rs 16,000 crore through Direct Benefit Transfer. , the statement said. Under the scheme a benefit of Rs 6,000 is provided to eligible farmer families in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each. Under PM-KISAN, eligible farmer families have received benefits worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore so far.
The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Agriculture Startup Conclave and Exhibition, an official statement said. Around 300 startups will showcase their innovations related to precision farming, post-harvest and value-added solutions, allied agriculture, waste to wealth, mechanization for small farmers, supply chain management, argi-logistics.
The platform will facilitate startups to interact with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), agri-experts, corporates, etc. Startups will also share their experiences and interact with other stakeholders in technical sessions.
The statement during the event also said that the Prime Minister will also launch an e-magazine on fertilisers, ‘Indian Age’. It will provide information on domestic and international fertilizer scenarios, including recent developments, price trend analysis, availability and consumption, success stories of farmers, etc.
