India-France Relationship: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron and displayed India’s solidarity in dealing with the fierce forest fires and drought situation in the country. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the two leaders also discussed important geopolitical challenges and civil nuclear energy cooperation.
According to the PMO, during this phone conversation, the two leaders also reviewed the ongoing bilateral initiatives between India and France, including projects related to defense cooperation and civil nuclear energy.
They also discussed important geopolitical challenges including global food security. “The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the strength and depth of the Indo-French strategic partnership in recent years and agreed to continue to work together in new areas of cooperation to further expand the relationship,” the PMO said. ‘
Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet that he displayed India’s solidarity with the incident of the massive fire in France during a discussion with his friend President Macron. “We discussed ongoing bilateral cooperation on the India-France Strategic Partnership and other issues of global and regional importance,” he said.

PM Modi said that the two leaders also agreed on closer cooperation to meet the global challenges related to food and energy security. India and France have been raising concerns about global food security challenges in the wake of the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
There has been a huge fire in the forests of Europe for the last few days and to extinguish it, apart from Germany and Romania, many countries of Europe are engaged. This fire has also spread to some parts of Portugal and England. Thousands of hectares of crops have also been destroyed due to forest fires. This situation has arisen due to extreme heat and drought.
