PM Narendra Modi will hold a public meeting in Shivamogga

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public meeting in Shivamogga, the home constituency of former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, on Monday. This will be his second public meeting in Karnataka after the announcement of dates for the Lok Sabha elections. The first rally was on Saturday in Kalaburagi, the home constituency of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is expecting a huge crowd at the Allama Prabhu Maidan (Freedom Park) for the meeting in Yediyurappa’s home district. Yediyurappa is a member of the party’s important parliamentary board.

Yediyurappa’s son is the candidate from Shivamogga

Yediyurappa’s elder son BY Raghavendra is the BJP candidate from Shimogga Lok Sabha constituency. Meanwhile, former Deputy Chief Minister KS Eshwarappa has announced that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate, as he is unhappy with his son KE Kantesh not being given a ticket from Haveri Lok Sabha seat. Eshwarappa has even announced that he will not even attend Modi’s public meeting. The dissident leader had earlier said that the Prime Minister “lives in his heart.” BJP state chief and Yudiyurappa’s second son BY Vijayendra visited Allama Prabhu grounds along with senior party officials to oversee the preparations and give necessary instructions to ensure that the meeting runs smoothly. He is MLA from Shikaripura.

BJP’s target crosses 400 this time

The BJP aims to better its 2019 performance in this election, when it had won 25 of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state. In 2019, Congress and JD(S) had won one seat each, while BJP-backed independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh had won one seat. Let us tell you that BJP says that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the party will single-handedly win more than 370 seats. Together, the NDA alliance will win a total of more than 400 seats. Let us tell you that PM Modi has been visiting different states continuously for the last several days.
