New Delhi : Today is the last day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tour of Jharkhand, Bengal and Bihar. Today he is going to gift many projects to Bengal and Bihar. At around 10.30 am, the Prime Minister will reach Krishnanagar in Nadia district of West Bengal, where he will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 15,000 crore. At 2.30 pm, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth Rs 21,400 crore in Aurangabad, Bihar.
Lashed out heavily on Mamata government: PM Modi
Earlier on Friday, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several railway schemes in Arambag. PM Modi criticized TMC and its leadership in Sandeshkhali, accusing them of audacity and shamelessness in their treatment of women. “Amidst the achievements, the entire country is keeping an eye on the situation in Bengal today,” he said at a rally in Arambag in Hooghly district. TMC has no answer: PM Modi
Referring to Khanakul, the birthplace of social reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy, located near the rally venue, the Prime Minister said, “What happened to the sisters and mothers of Sandeshkhali will shudder even the soul of Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Rai’s soul, wherever it is, will be sad and crying over the situation in Bengal. TMC has no answer for the atrocities.” Virtually sounding the trumpet for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Modi urged the people of Bengal to respond to the blow by voting. He said, “Will you forgive such a party? Will you forgive TMC? Every injury has to be answered by voting.”
The Sandeshkhali area, located at the mouth of the Sundarbans, has been grappling with uproar and protests for over a month due to allegations of sexual exploitation and land grabbing against TMC leader Shahjahan Shaikh and his associates. Police had arrested Sheikh, who was absconding for 55 days, on Thursday. Modi said, “The women of Sandeshkhali asked for help. And what do they get? The Chief Minister made every possible effort to save those culprits.” The Prime Minister claimed that it was the result of pressure from sustained BJP-led protests that the state administration “finally had to bow before the people of Sandeshkhali and arrest the main accused, who was absconding for almost two months”.
