Ayodhya will become a ‘model solar city’.

Gandhinagar: PM Modi today interacted with the beneficiaries of ‘PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme’ in Gandhinagar. During this, PM Modi also inaugurated the fourth edition of the ‘Global Renewable Energy Investor Meeting and Exhibition’ (RE-INVEST 2024) in Gandhinagar. PM Modi said that 140 crore Indians have resolved to make the country the third largest economy in the world. The PM said that in the first 100 days of the third term, we have tried to deal with the challenges of every sector for the rapid development of the country. He also made a big announcement for Ayodhya. PM Modi said that work is going on to make Ayodhya a model solar city.

17 cities will be made solar cities

PM Modi said on this occasion, “Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram and he was a ‘Suryavanshi’. A grand temple has been built in Ayodhya, but Ayodhya is also moving towards becoming a model solar city. The work of making Ayodhya a model solar city is almost complete. Similarly, we have identified 17 such cities in India, which will be developed as solar cities.” Apart from this, PM Modi said that India’s diversity, scale, capacity, possibility and performance, all are unique. That is why I say, ‘Indian solutions for global applications’, the world is also understanding this. Not only Indians, but the whole world thinks that India is the best bet of the 21st century. Germany’s Economic Development Minister Svenja Schulz welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gujarat is leading in terms of solar energy

On this occasion, Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel said that under the leadership of PM Modi, Gujarat has emerged as a leading state in the renewable energy sector and said that the state’s renewable energy policy and green hydrogen policy reflect the state government’s commitment to a green future. Gujarat has an installed capacity of renewable energy of over 50,000 MW, with renewable energy contributing 54 per cent to the state’s energy capacity. Gujarat leads the country in solar power installation.
