New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party leaders are seeing the inauguration of a helicopter factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Tumakuru, Karnataka by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a new opportunity. According to Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, employment opportunities will increase in the region due to the factory. When asked about this, Bommai said, “Around 10,000 jobs will be created due to this factory in the area.” The BJP believes that development trumps every other issue and hence the dedication of such projects focuses on the politics of development.
BJP national general secretary CT Ravi said, “We will speak the language of development and this project will contribute to the development of the old Mysore region.” Party leaders believe that some cracks have appeared in the JD(S) bastion of old Mysore and this could be the beginning for the BJP. Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa also expressed confidence of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s victory in the state. The government’s statement on the dedication of the helicopter factory of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Tumkuru, Karnataka, on Monday said that it is a step towards a self-reliant India in defence.
Focus on old Mysore region with more than 60 assembly seats
The old Mysore region includes districts such as Kodagu, Kolar, Chamarajanagara, Mandya, Mysore, Hassan, Chikkaballapura and Chikkamagaluru. Including these, there are more than 60 assembly seats out of 224 in the state. A government statement said that the greenfield helicopter factory, spread over 615 acres of land, has been planned with a view to becoming a one-stop solution for all helicopter requirements of the country. It is India’s largest helicopter manufacturing facility and will initially produce Light Utility Helicopters (LUH).
