New Delhi. The work on the ground level of the country’s first urban ropeway is going to start today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of this ambitious project. After the construction of this ropeway, the devotees going to visit Kashi Vishwanath will have convenience, they will have another option besides auto, tempo and rickshaw. Devotees will be able to get down from the station and go straight to the temple, they will not have to get stuck in traffic.
Prakash Gaur, CEO of NHAI’s company NHLML, which constructed the ropeway, told that the work of Kashi ropeway has been awarded. Today the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of this ropeway project. Thousands of devotees arriving from Kashi and outside are going to get a gift. After the commencement of the work, the operation of the ropeway will start within two years. In this way, on 2025, devotees will be able to travel by ropeway.

The total length of the ropeway will be 3.75 km. Five stations will be built in this, but there will be only four stations for boarding and disembarking. The fifth station will be built for technical reasons. The first of these four stations will be the Cantt Railway Station, from where the ropeway is starting, the second Vidyapeeth, the third Rath Yatra and the fourth, the last station will be Godaulia. Since vehicles do not go beyond this to go to the temple, the ropeway will be run till here.
3000 passengers will be able to travel per hour
3000 passengers will be able to travel per hour on the ropeway cable car. With the increase in the number of people, the number of cable cars will be increased. In the initial phase, 300 passengers will be able to travel per hour.
Cable car will have 10 seats
There is a preparation to run a 10-seater cable car in this ropeway. Initially, a total of 18 cable cars will run in the ropeway. However, the ropeway will be designed in such a way that the number of cable cars can be increased as per the requirement.
