Chandigarh. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has ordered a high-level inquiry into the Chandigarh University incident that is stirring up the country. Rumor has spread in this scandal that a girl has made viral videos of 60 girl students taking a bath. Regarding this matter, the police said that ‘the student shared her own videos with the youth. No one else’s. Let us tell you that the incident happened late Saturday night at the University located in Mohali. After that there was uproar.

The student, who allegedly made the video viral, is accused of making videos of girls and sending them to a Shimla youth. Then he used to make it viral on social media. The youth is also being told as a student of this university. Both have been taken into custody by the police. Seeing the matter catching up, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann tweeted in Punjabi, ‘Sad to hear about the incident at Chandigarh University. Our daughters are our honour. A high level inquiry has been ordered in this incident. Strict action will be taken against whoever is guilty.

Do not believe in rumours – Mann
The Chief Minister said that he is in touch with the district administration regarding this matter. He also appealed to the public not to believe in any kind of rumour. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that those who are involved in this incident will be punished severely. On the other hand, Mohali Senior SP Vivek Sheel Soni said- In the preliminary investigation, it has been found that the student shared her own videos to a person from Himachal. The role of that person is being investigated. The girl student has been detained in this case. He said that an FIR has been registered in this case under Section 354-C of IPC and IT.

No other student’s video – Kang
On the other hand, the university management has rejected the report, which said that videos of many girl students were made and shared on social media. Dr. Arvinder Singh Kang, director of the student welfare department of the university, said that we investigated the matter. Primarily it seems that no other student’s video has been made. He said that an FIR has been registered in this matter for further clear investigation. There is no truth in the rumor that the girl students attempted suicide after the video was shared.

Minister appealed for peace
Punjab School Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has appealed to the students to maintain calm in this matter. He has assured them that the guilty will not be spared. He said that this is a sensitive issue. It is related to the dignity of our sisters and daughters. All of us and the media need to be careful in this. This is the time of examination of our society. At the same time, Senior SP Soni said that do not pay attention to the rumor, in which it is being said that many girl students have attempted suicide. There have been no deaths related to this incident.
