‘Prepare the runway by February 2024, and then…’, CM Yogi’s instructions at Jewar Airport

CM Yogi has said that the runway should be prepared by February 2024 and trial landing should be done.

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream project ‘Noida International Greenfield Airport’ is going to get direct and excellent connectivity of Metro, High Speed ​​Rapid Rail and Road. This airport is also known colloquially as Jewar Airport. While discussing the better connectivity of the airport with the officials of NCRTC, Northern Railway, North Central Railway, NHAI and state government on Tuesday, CM Yogi said that the entire area of ​​Jewar was in the grip of crime till a few years ago and there were people in broad daylight here. There were incidents of snatching and robbery. He said that today it is being identified with the international airport.

‘Government will provide all necessary resources’

CM said, ‘Film city is proposed near Jewar airport. This will be the most developed area of ​​NCR in the next few years. Jewar Airport is going to become a big hub for air cargo. According to estimates, Jewar Airport will serve 65 lakh passengers (per year) in 2024-25, which is likely to increase to 07 crore passengers per year by 2042-43. Jewar airport needs to be connected to Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Rapid rail and metro can be a better option for this. A proposal should be prepared after obtaining necessary cooperation and advice in this regard from the Government of India, NCRTC. The state government will provide all necessary resources for this.

‘Keeping in view the target, speed in work is necessary’

In the meeting, the CM said that we will have to conduct a trial landing on the runway of Jewar Airport in February 2024 and keeping this goal in mind, it is necessary to speed up the work. Railway officials told Yogi that with the aim of better connectivity to Jewar Airport, a new rail line from local Chola to Rundhi, a distance of about 98 km, is also being considered. In the meeting, the CM gave necessary instructions to the officials of Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Industrial Development Authorities to provide land. He also asked to ensure police stations, fire stations, drainage systems etc. in view of the security and public convenience of Jewar Airport.
